The BMW R 1300 GS was recently launched as a 2024 model with a new, lighter design and a more powerful engine.

For the 2026 model, BMW is expected to bring even more upgrades and new features, especially in its electronics and rider assistance technology.
BMW R 1300 GS 2026 Key Features (Expected)
Design and Frame: The 2026 R 1300 GS will continue with a more compact, slimmer, and modern design, inspired by the current R 1300 GS. It will still be built on a new lightweight frame, using a sheet metal shell main frame and a die-cast aluminum rear frame.
Suspension: It will feature an upgraded version of the Telelever and Paralever suspension systems for better handling and comfort. Advanced features like Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) and Adaptive Vehicle Leveling might see further improvements.
Engine Power: It will use the same 1,300cc liquid-cooled, flat-twin boxer engine (or a slightly updated version) found in the 2024 model. This engine delivers 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, promising better power delivery. It will come with a 6-speed gearbox.
Electronics and Tech:
- Advanced Riding Modes: Expect new or improved riding modes like “Enduro” and “Eco,” along with updated “Dynamic” and “Dynamic Pro” modes.
- ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems): It’s likely to get an improved ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, and Lane Change Warning, making rides safer and more comfortable.
- TFT Display: A large, full-color TFT display will offer smartphone connectivity, navigation, and riding data.
Other features like Keyless Ride, heated grips, heated seats (optional), and a USB charging port will also be available.
Braking and Safety: It will include Integral ABS Pro (for better braking even when leaning into turns), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) for stability during emergency braking, and Hill Start Control (HSC Pro) for easier uphill starts.
